Grace- mom, I have to check my email first!
Mom- O yea, did you get any emails?
Grace- Yes
Mom- From Who?
Grace- From China!
Mom- Who in China?
Grace- De'O
Mom- What did your friend say?
Grace- Ni Hao (which is hello in Chinese!)

A Good Mommy!

Gracie is a great mommy already! SHe loves her baby (my doll when I was little). She rocks her and sings Jesus Loves Me to her. She changes her diaper-she actually does it very well and also wraps up the "dirty" diapers just right and throws them in the trash. She feeds here in the high chair and is very concerned when she has to leave her because she might cry! Of course, as she has seen some new "real" babies lately, she thinks the baby needs to nurse as well! That is quite interesting. Especially when she starts to ask if she nursed and if Wade and Joey did, and why she didn't from me and why can't she nurse now, .... and why, why, why. SO, that led me into conversations of her birth mommy in China not being able to take care of her, and so she brought her to the orphanage so the grandmas could take care of her (and feed her with a bottle) until we came and got her. She'll be a wonderful mommy some day and then I told her she can nurse her own babies! She is excited about that! Oh, life with an inquisitive 3 year old. (almost 3 and a half she says now).

Joey's induction into manhood!

Here's Joey cleaning his first goose! Sorry for the gore! He got really frustrated trying to cut through everything but finally managed (with a little of dad's help!). Everytime Gracie sees geese in a field now, she says "mommy, daddy catches gooses!"

WHY Mommy?

A week ago Gracie discovered a wonderful new word that she uses thousands of time each day! Yes, the WHY word! We knew it would come and boy did it ever! Now we are working on strategies with her- asking her why back seems to work sometimes. I guess that's how children learn! And the funny thing (and sometimes annoying thing) is how she says it - she starts out with a high sound and lowers it down a few notes and then goes back up in key and volume! Oh the fun of a 3 year old!
